College Football Is (Finally) Back in Georgia!

Fall is back, and It’s finally that time of year to cheer for our favorite schools and alumni. College football is back! Georgia won the College Football Playoff championship in thrilling fashion last year, and the 2022 season looks to pick up where it left off with exciting action. Here are some Georgia college football teams that will be playing on week 4:

 Georgia Southern Eagles football

The Eagles play in the Sun Belt conference’s D1 division and are based in Statesboro, Georgia. On September 24, 2022, at 6 p.m., Georgia Southern will face the Ball State Cardinals.

The Georgia State Panthers

The Panthers are a D1 Sun Belt conference team based in Atlanta, Georgia. Georgia State will face the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers on September 22nd, 2022, at 7:30 p.m.

Kennesaw State Owls 

Located in Kennesaw, Georgia, the Owls are in the D1 division of the Atlantic Sun Conference. Georgia State is up against the Wofford Terriers on September 22nd, 2022, at 6 pm.

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

The Yellow Jackets play in the D1 division of the ACC coastal conference and are based in Atlanta, Georgia. On September 24th, Georgia State will take on the UCF Knights.

Mercer Bears 

Located in Macon, Georgia, the Bears are in the D1 division competing in the Southern Conference. Georgia State is up against the Gardner-Webb Runnin’ Bulldogs on September 24th, 2022, at 6 pm.

Georgia Bulldogs 

The Bulldogs compete in the SEC’s D1 division and are based in Athens, Georgia. The defending national title champs will face the Kent State Golden Flashes on the SEC Network on September 24th, 2022, at 12 p.m.

Georgia public colleges to expand admissions testing requirements for fall 2026

Georgia colleges are reverting to requiring standardized test scores for all new applicants, signaling a shift from pandemic-era policies. Beginning in fall 2026, institutions including Augusta University, The University of Georgia, and Georgia Tech will mandate SAT or ACT scores, a decision unanimously approved by the Georgia Board of Regents.
