While the historic $1.337 billion jackpot went to a ticket sold in Illinois, two Georgians were graced by lady luck last Saturday when the Mega Millions Lottery announced that two of the 26 matching tickets for $1 million dollars came right from Georgia.

Lottery officials confirmed that the two tickets were sold from a Food Lion in Grovetown and a Speedy cash loan center in McDonough.

Of the 26 bigtime winners, six players opted for a Megaplier, meaning they bought lottery tickets that yielded a double earning of $2 million for a higher cost.

Among the 20 players that bought regular tickets and won $1 million, two of these winners came from the Peach State.

Going down the lottery strata, to see who’s celebrating in Georgia this week, there were three Megaplier winners in the state, cashing in on $20,000 each. Meanwhile, eight players with regular tickets won $10,000 each.

315 players in the state also won $500 each, while 798 others walked away with $200 each.

At the bottom, 35,000 players won at least $10 in the state. While that’s a far cry from $1 million dollars, and almost nothing compared to $1.337 billion, at the very least, these players can hold their head up high and say that they won the lottery.
